Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) today filed a FIR against Karnataka Minister for Law S Suresh Kumar, former Housing Minister M Krishnaiah Setty and former Principal Secretary to then Chief Minister V P Baligar for allegedly denotifying four acres 20 guntas land in Laggere in Bangalore North Taluk, which was meant for construction of houses for slum dwellers.
Acting on a complaint filed by Dinesh Kallalli, the BMTF registered a case against the trio under section 13 (1) and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act- 1988 and 157 of the CrPC.
Kallalli, in his complaint, pointed out that 4.2 acres of land in survey number 9/2, which belonged to K Gopinath, brother of senior RSS leader Narahari, was notified to build houses for the financially weaker and downtrodden sections.
The process of land acquisition was completed in 2003 and six years after the land came into its possession, the Karnataka Slum Development Board (KSDB) commenced construction of houses by calling for tenders.
