AIADMK Puducherry Unit Secretary and MLA A Anbazhagan today reiterated that a CBI probe be ordered against Yanam legislator Malladi Krishna Rao in connection with the Yanam industrial violence and also in respect of the 'corruptions' in the developmental schemes of the Centre and Puducherry administration undertaken in the region.
Addressing a press conference here, he said Mr Rao in an interview to an English daily yesterday said that he is innocent, the political parties are jealous on his growth and have levelled baseless allegations against him. For this, a CBI probe has been sought.
This statement of Mr Rao needs to be strongly condemned, he said adding that on a request from AIADMK and on direction of the Madras High Court, the CBI probe was ordered. Presently, the CBI investigation is a low level one and Mr Rao be interrogated and then only the truth will come out, he said.
Mr Anbazhagan charged that Mr Rao had 'fooled'the people of Puducherry and made mockery of the assembly in his resignation issue. If he is a straight forward man,he should have sent his resignation letter in person, the very next day speaker rejected it. Instead he had enacted a drama to 'cheat' the people. Mr Anbazhagan also said that Union Minister of State for PMO V Narayansamy is making efforts to protect Mr Rao from a CBI enquiry against him.
