Several trains cancelled/diverted due to damage of railway track

Even as the incessant rains caused by Nilam cyclonic storm created havoc in the three coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, railway track between Kondapalli-Madhira sections in Vijayawada railway division also suffered damage forcing the authorities to cancel or divert train services.

The railway authorities cancelled several passenger trains and diverted some super past long distance trains.

A railway press release, here today, said that train No.12296 Patna-Banglore Sangamitra Express is diverted to run via Secunderabad, Kurnool Town, Dhone, Gooty and Dronachellam, instead of earlier diversion via Raichur, Guntakal and Dharmavaram.

The trains Cancelled were train No.57237 Kazipet-Vijayawada Passenger, train No. 57238 Vijayawada-Kazipet Passenger, train No.57254 Vijayawada-Bhadrachalam Road Passenger,train No. 57253 Bhadrachalam Road-Vijayawada Passenger, train No. 67269 Kazipet-Dornakal Passenger,train No. 67271 Dornakal-Vijayawada Passenger, train No. 67273 Vijayawada-Guntur Passenger and train No. 67274 Guntur-Vijayawada Passenger.
