Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva satisfied from FDI's reply over rotten wheat use
Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva today expressed satisfaction over the assurance from the authorities concerned in the Food Corporation of India(FDI) and Public Distribution System PDS over use of rotten wheat.
In informal talks with the media at the Raj Bhawan here, Ms Alva said she had sought a report from the authorities over some instances of stocks of rotten wheat and it had been conveyed by them that bad quality/rotten wheat would not be supplied for human consumption in any situation.
The Governor said she was assured that such wheat if found in stocks godowns/location anywhere would be used only for cattle consumption, if suitable, or for manufacturing of fertilizers.
'My action was based on media reports over the issue and it is matter of satisfaction that the authorities are sensitive in this regard', Ms Alva said.
