The Depression over South Interior Karnataka and neighbourhood following the land movement of cyclonic storm Nilam has weakened into a well marked low pressure area and lay over North Interior Karnataka and adjoining Rayalseema at 0830 hrs of today.
According to B Puttanna, Director incharge of the Meteorological Centre here, the system would further weaken gradually.
Hadagali in Bellary District received the highest rainfall of 17 cm during the 24 hours ending 0830 hrs today followed by Munirabad and Hospet that received 14 cm followed by Mundargi with 13 cm.
The Meteorological Centre reported widespread rains across the state with the North-East Monsoon being vigorous over Interior Karnataka and active over Coastal Karnataka.
The city and its neighbourhood had a respite from rains since this morning, though the weather was cloudy.
