Karnataka to set up Innovation Council
Karnataka will soon set up an Innovation Council acting upon the recommendations of the State Knowledge Commission headed by former ISRO Chief K Kasturirangan Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar said today.
Speaking at the National Quality Summit organised by CII here, he said that the Council will suggest Innovative ideas to provide solutions related to basic needs of the needy people in the state.
He said the government will take innovation and its benefits to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities so that all sections of the society can harness its benefits.
Mr Shettar said the State will soon come out with a dedicated Aerospace Policy. Stating that Karnataka is the first to come out with such a Policy, he said that drafting has already been completed.
He said an exclusive Industrial Area and Sector specific SEZ is being built on 984 acres near Bangalore International Airport. This is in addition to India's first Aerospace SEZ that is functioning in Belgaum.
