Overcoming the slowdown blues in the auto sector Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), the Indian arm of the Japanese car maker, has recorded a 14 per cent growth in the month of selling 12,281 units as compared to 10,762 units in the corresponding month last year.
MUV Innova, the flagship product, registered a 73 per cent growth with 5,889 units being sold as compared to 3,411 units sold in October last year. SUV Fortuner registered an 81 per cet growth with 1,378 units sold as compared to 763 units in the corresponding month last year. The compact Etios series sold 4,596 units as compared to 5,859 units in previous period and luxury car Corolla Altis sold 332 units last month.
Commenting on the sales performance Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing said TKM registered a god growth last month, with high sales of Innova and Fortuner, a company release said.
'The market is still sluggish, especially the passenger car segment. The SUV and MPV segments are comparatively better and we hope to see the market picking up, as the festive season continues.
