Ford India's October sales rise marginally
Ford India, the Indian subsidiary of US auto major Ford Motor Company, closed last month with total sales of 10,948 units -- marginally up from 10,906 units sold in October 2011, the company said.
In a statement Thursday, Ford India said its sales in the domestic market went down to 7,577 units last month as compared to 8,091 units sold in October 2011. However, exports during last month were higher at 3,371 units as against 2,815 units shipped out in October 2011.
"Despite some of the ongoing market challenges, we have again sold close to 11,000 vehicles," said Michael Boneham, president and managing director of the company.
