Corporation Bank has fixed its business target for the current fiscal at Rs 2.88 lakh crore as against the last year's achievement of Rs 2.42 lakh crore, according to Bank's Tiruchirapalli Zonal Head and Deputy General Manager R Natarajan.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the bank's three days Home and Vehicle Mela-2012 here today, Mr Natarajan also pointed out that there were 31 zonal offices across the country of which three were located in Tamil Nadu, namely Chennai, Coimbatore and Tiruchirapalli.
He said there were 48 branches coming under the Tiruchirapalli zone consisting of 12 revenue districts of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Pudhucherry. The number of branches would be increased by 53, in Tiruchirapalli zone, by end of March 31, next, he added.
He said there were 1600 branches and 1300 ATMs across the country, besides Bank's representative offices at Dubai and Hong Kong.
Speaking on the occasion, Bank's Zonal Chief Manager S Dhantapani said the Zone had done a business of Rs 2,280 crore during the last fiscal and this year they hoped to achieve more business.
Depending up on the response for this mela, the bank would organise similar melas in different parts of the circle, he added.
In his address Bank's Zonal Chief Manager R Rangarajan said the bank would lend maximum loan of Rs five crore for housing purposes, Rs two crore loan assistance for industrial activities, Rs one crore for vehicles and Rs five crore for hospital and medical related business with grand festival offers.
City Corporation Commissioner V P Dhantapani inauurated the mela and hailed the efforts of the bank for holding such melas.
He urged the bank authorities to help the City corporation for improving the existing traffic islands of the city.
