Dr Manju Verma, Director of the Centre, elaborating on the theme said that women can play a significant role in peacemaking, if they are properly supported and genuinely included in the decision-making process.

She said that the inclusion of women's perspectives in peace efforts is critical to ensure that the needs of local populations are understood in planning and implementing everlasting peace but all over the world, women are facing security dilemmas not only in conflict situations but also in their day to day lives, which threatens peace.

More than 500 delegates from national and international institutes, universities and colleges are expected to participate.
