Rajasthan Government to help to rickshaw puller's motherless baby girl
The Government on Rajasthan on Monday said that it would bear the medical expenses of a local rickshaw puller's premature infant in Bharatpur.
Rickshaw puller Bablu's wife died during delivery in September 2012, leaving behind a premature baby girl with anaemia.
With no one to look after the newborn, Damini, Bablu who was earning a living riding a rented rickshaw, carried the child in a sling around his neck.
Bablu's plight caught the media's attention, and the infant was shifted to a Jaipur hospital with her father and grandfather.
The infant is critical and on ventilator support," said Dr Jaikrishan Mittal.
He also said that her organs are affected with infection. She is also suffering from pneumonia, is underweight and anemic," he added.
