Lyricist Kecheri receives Vallathol Award 
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 17 (IANS)
Lyricist Yousuf Ali Kecheri has been conferred the prestigious Vallathol Puraskar by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
Kecheri received the honour at a function held here Tuesday. The award comprises of cash Rs.1,11,111 and a plaque.
Chandy said Kecheri is "very much eligible for the award".
In his speech, Kecheri urged people not to neglect their mother tongue.
