A second year student of National Law School of India University (NLSIU) was allegedly gangraped on Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University on Saturday, police said on Monday.
The 21-year-old victim, who hails from Nepal, was with a male friend in a car when they were stopped by a group of six to eight drunk men.
The police quoted from the complaint of the victim's male friend and said the attackers first attacked him, beat him up and then dragged him out of the car.
They took him to a forested area on the Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University and dumped him there, the police said.
The youth said in his complaint that when he returned to the spot he could not find the girl or the attackers.
The police combed the area after the victim's friend lodged a complaint in a police station.
He said the victim later called him and said she was gangraped.
She said the attackers also looted her valuables including an iPad and an iPhone.
Pertinently, the youth hails from Kerala and works in an IT company.
The police are conducting combing operations in order to nab the accused.
