An all-round show by Moises Henriques helped Sydney Sixers defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 14 runs in a Champions League T20 match at New Wanderers Stadium here on Sunday.
Chasing 186 for victory, CSK batsmen scored 171 runs for the loss nine wickets in 20 overs.
CSK made a poor start to the run chase as they lost the wicket of opener Murali Vijay (1) in the second over of the match.
Faf du Plessis (43) and Michael Hussey (16) added 61 runs in the second wicket partnership to stabilise CSK's innings after the initial blow.
Sydney Sixers bounced back strongly by dismissing Plessis and Hussey in quick succession.
Suresh Raina remained the top scorer for CSK with his 57 runs from 33 balls. he hit eight boundaries and two sixes in the innings.
MS Dhoni (8), Subramaniam Badrinath (6), Ravindra Jadeja (2) failed to deliver with the willows in the match.
Henriques picked up three wickets by giving away 23 runs in his three overs.
Earlier, Sydney Sixers scored 185 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
Henriques (49*) and Steven Smith (26) added crucial 75 runs in the fifth wicket partnership to help the side pose 185 runs on the scoreboard.
Henriques hit five boundaries and three sixes in his quickfire knock.
Shane Watson scored 46 runs from 30 balls. He hit five boundaries and two sixes in the innings.
R Ashwin picked up two wickets for CSK.
