Rainfall occurred at a few places over Tamil Nadu and North interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh ,Rayalaseema, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka.

Dry weather prevailed over Telangana, Coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are: TAMIL NADU AND PUDUCHERRY: Virudhunagar (Virudhunagar Dist) 10, Tirupuvanam (Sivaganga Dist) 9, Kamatchipuram (Dindigul Dist) 8, Sivakasi (Virudhunagar Dist) 7, Dindigul (Dindigul Dist) and Madurai Airport (Madurai Dist) 6 Each, Vedasandur (Dindigul Dist) and Sivaganga (Sivaganga Dist) 5 each, Chittampatti and Melur (both Madurai Dist, Andipatti (Theni Dist) and Natham (Dindigul Dist) 4 each, Tirumangalam (Madurai Dist), Bhavanisagar, Sathyamangalam and Gobichettipalayam (all Erode Dist), Vaniaymbadi (Vellore Dist), Pechiparai (Kanyakumari Dist), Marungapuri (Trichy Dist), Karur Paramathi (Karur Dist) and Manamadurai (Sivaganga Dist) 3 each, Melalathur and Gudiyatham (both Vellore Dist),Chatrapatti and Kodaikanal (both Dindigul Dist, Thuraiyur and Musiri (both Trichy Dist), Srivilliputhur (Virudhunagar Dist), Panchapatti (Karur Dist), Sholavandan (Madurai Dist), Aruppukottai and Rajapalayam (both Virudhunagar Dist), Marandahalli (Dharmapuri Dist), Sulur (Kovai Dist), Cheranmahadevi (Tirunelveli Dist), Mayiladuthurai (Nagapattinam Dist) and Vembavur (Perambalur Dist) 2 each and Kothagiri (Nilgiris Dist), Thathiengrpet and Manapparai (both Trichy Dist), Denkanikottai (Krishnagiri Dist, Usilampatti, Peraiyur and Mettupatti (all Madurai Dist), Thalavadi (Erode Dist), Periyakulam (Theni Dist), Nilakottai (Dindigul Dist), Valparai taluk office (Kovai Dist), Kovilankulam and Watrap (both Virudhunagar Dist), Attur (Salem Dist)and Tiruvannamalai (Tiruvannamalai Dist) 1 each.

They were appreciably above normal at many places over South Tamil Nadu, Kerala, at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at a few places over North Tamil Nadu, Coastal Karnataka, at a few places over rest Kerala, rest Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, appreciably below normal at a few places over rest North Tamil Nadu, below normal at one or two places over Rayalaseema and were remained normal over rest of the region.

Palayamkottai recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39 degree Celsius in the region.

The minimum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over North Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over rest North Tamil Nadu, Rayalseema, North interior Karnataka, fell appreciably at one or two places over South Tamil Nadu, fell at a few places over rest South Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North interior Tamil Nadu, below normal at a few palces over rest Coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, above normal at a few places over Kerala, at one or two places over Rayalaseema and were remained normal over the rest of the region.

Belguam Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 19 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

WEATHER FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 10TH OCTOBER 2012: Rain or thundershower would occur at a few places over Rayalaseema,Kerala, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Isolated rain or thundershower may occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Lakshadweep and Coastal Karnataka.
