Abu Dhabi police to help Hajis travel

Posted on Oct 07, 10:44AM | IANS

To help people travel by land to Mecca from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for Haj pilgrimage, the Abu Dhabi police will flag off a mobile garage to help repair vehicles carrying pilgrims.

The Workshop on Wheels is filled with spare parts and will have on board a number of skilled mechanical staff, and pilgrims can call 999 in case of emergency, said Acting Director of Police in the Western Region Col. Ajeel Ali Abdullah.

As pilgrims travelling by land started to leave for the Mecca via Guwaifat bordering UAE and Saudi Arabia, the police have geared up preparations to give needed services to the pilgrims.
