27 cadets selected in 'Launch Camp' in Kerala

A strong and brimming with confidence, contingent of 27 cadets representing Kerala and Lakshwadeep NCC Directorate, have been selected in the final and launch camp, which culminated today, conducted at Air Force Stn, Shanghumugham.

A total of 75 cadets went through the rug moral of intensive training in various disciplines including flying, aero modelling, firing, tent pitching, drill etc, according to a press release here.

This will be last time when cadets from No 1 Kerala Air Sqn NCC alone will be participating in these competitions. Next year onwards there will be stiff and healthy competition put in by the Ernakulam unit, the No 3 Kerala Air Sqn NCC as well to be part of the Kerala Directorate contingent.

These cadets had been together for 30 days altogether. These 27 cadets will now proceed to Banguluru on Oct 7, 12 to participate in the AIVSC camp being held from October 8 to 19 to compete with cadets from 16 other Directorates.

Dy Director General of the K and L NCC Directorate visited the camp to motivate the cadets and lauded at the training standards achieved during the camp. Wg Cdr D Sendhil Kumar the Commanding Officer of the unit expressed confidence that cadets have been trained to best of their abilities and that they will put their best foot forward in the competition to bring laurels to the state Directorate.
