Sukhwiner Singh Sukhi was among those 300 hardcore terrorists who were inducted as Police Cats to liquidate terrorists to make the state of Punjab terror-free.

He was a close aide of the former DGP Sarbjit Singh Virk. His name first surfaced when his house in Hardyal Nagar here was raided in 2006.

After this raid, the house of the then DGP Virk on Wadala road was raided by the police to establish links between the then chief policeman and the terrorist turned police cat of the Khalistan Commando Force.

Sukhi, who was declared dead about 20 years ago by the Punjab police, had suddenly surfaced in the custody of Delhi police.

The Punjab police is now in a bid to seek his custody to settle scores with the former DGP Virk by the present Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini.

The Jalandhar Rural police earlier was of the opinion that Sukhi might have relations with the Ice Drug trafficker Ranjit Singh alias Raja Kandola.

But when the Delhi police informed the Punjab police that it could not establish any link between the two criminals involved in crimes of different nature, the police first dropped the idea to bring him from Delhi on production warrant for interrogation in connection with his involvement in drug trafficking as a close associate of Raja Kandola.

The Punjab Police as learnt had altered its strategy to get his custody for interrogation in drug trafficking case and wanted to use him as a tool against the former DGP Virk with whom DGP Saini had estranged relations for the last several years.

Meanwhile , two NGO's Universal Human Rights Organizations and Women Justice and Equality had demanded CBI inquiry into the entire episode of declaring and propagating the killing of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi who turned to be alive after 20 years after he was arrested by the Delhi Police.

Both these NGO's wanted to know about the individual who was killed in place of Sukhi and identified as Sukhi, as hardcore terrorist of the KCF.

The NGO leaders Satnam Singh Dhaliwal, president of the UHRO and Justice RS Sodhi, former Judge of the Delhi High Court and Ritu Pandit, president of the WJ and E have also sought probe into the killing of innocent Sikh youths by the police by using terrorist turned police cats to seek promotions.
