The ruling BJP in Karnataka has been put in a spot by former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa who will sit on a day-long dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue tomorrow in support of on going agitation in protest against release of water from River Cauvery to Tamil Nadu.
The BJP, however, has disassociated with his plan stating that the party is not connected with it.
Dhananjaya Kumar, a staunch follower of Yeddyurappa, who was removed from Karnataka Representative in Delhi, told newsmen here today that the senior BJP leader has cancelled all his engagements and coming down to Bangalore and sit in dharna in support of agitation going on statewide.
He said more than 10,000 people are participating in the agitation.
Replying to a question, he said, 'Mr Yeddyurappa is sitting on dharna, it is left to the party to support him or not. Party President and Secretary has to take a decision in this regard. We are not concerned with it.'
