A Special Police Team, probing the more than 16,000 crore illegal granite quarry scam in Madurai and its neighbouring districts, today raided a film production house owned by Durai Dayanidhi, son of Union Chemicals and Fertiliser Minister M K Alagiri.
Mr Durai Dayanidhi, who has been evading the police dragnet ever since his anticipatory bail plea was dismissed by the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on September 25, was cited as an accused in the case.
Police sources said a special police team from Madurai conducted raids at the office premises of Cloud Nine Movies, the film production company owned by Durai Dayanidhi, at the upmarket T Nagar area in the city.
Some incriminating documents were believed to have been seized during the searches that lasted a couple of hours.
Durai Dayanidhi is also the grandson of DMK President M Karunanidhi.
