The Madurai Police on Thursday raided the film production company of Union Minister MK Alagiri's son Durai Dayanidhi Alagiri in Chennai in connection to an illegal granite mining scam.
Durai is an accused in the case.
A team comprising of 10 police officers conducted searches at Durai's Cloud Nine Movies office for nearly an hour, reports said.
The Madras High Court on Sept 25 dismissed Durai's anticipatory bail plea in connection to the case.
At least 17 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against eight companies, including Olympus Granite, in the scam.
According to police sources, 60 people, including Durai, have been named in the FIRs.
Durai was the director in Olympus Granite till 2010.
A former collector of Madurai had earlier alleged that huge violations in granite industry resulted to a revenue loss of Rs 16,000 crore.
Raids were conducted in all the 175 quarries in the district following the allegation made by the collector.
