Seer case adjourned again

Puducherry Principal District and Sessions Judge C S Murugan today posted the Sankararaman murder case in which the Kanchi Acharyas Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijayendra Saraswathi are the prime accused, to October 30 for further hearing.

Twenty of the 24 accused, including the Acharayas appeared before the court when the case was taken today.

Accused Dilpanidyan, Rajani, Palani and Arumugham failed to turn up today. While Dilpandiyan is in jail under the Goondas Act, Palani and Arumugham are in a hospital following an accident. The judge issued a warrant against Rajani.

When the case was taken up, the court was informed that all petitions pertaining to this case filed in the Madras High Court were dismissed. Following this, the judge posted the case for October 30 when the writ filed by Padma, the wife of slain Sankararaman seeking a re-examination of the prosecution witnesses and to include Ravi Subramanian, the approver as an accused would be taken up. The judge directed that Padma should be present in the court on that day.
