Educomp Solutions Ltd today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT) for education initiatives in the Gulf region.
"The collaboration with CERT is an extension of our long term strategy to expand internationally. This MoU signals a breakthrough in our strategy for the Middle East and promises exponential growth on the back of the GCCs heightened emphasis on enhancing education infrastructure in the Gulf region," Educomp Solutions Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Prakash said in a statement.
The agreement is a forward looking collaboration where CERT will employ Educomp's proprietary digital education initiatives to help promote a strong national work force and introduce innovative technologies to the UAE and the GCC Region.
The GCC or the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf comprises UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait and has identified the education sector as a focus area in the immediate future.
A growing share of government spending is being channeled towards building new schools, colleges and universities.
Apart from basic tertiary education, GCC countries are also keen to enhance vocational and special education programs to encourage higher education among their nationals.
