The highlight of this year's Media and Entertainment Business Conclave (MEBC) will be a workshop on screen-writing, ace actor Kamal Hassan announced here today.
Addressing a press conference here in this connection, Kamal, himself a writer-director, drove home the point that a strong script was the backbone of a good film, and added as an instance 'Munram Pirai' in which he had played the lead along with Sridevi. The film was the brain child of another doyen of Tamil Cinema Cinematographer and Director Baalu Mahendra in the 80s.
The actor said in the two day MEBC event, of which he is the Chairman, noted film makers like Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, Rohan Sippy, Anurag Kashyap and Saurabh Shukla would also be playing key roles.
They would be involved with the screen writing workshops along with him, he said.
Oscar award winning producer Barrie Osborne of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy will also address a session at the conclave to be held on October 16 and 17.
National actors and media professionals like Mohnalal, Mammooty, Dileep, Jairam and Shobhana would also participate in the conclave.
The conclave would commemorate 100 years of Indian Cinema and conduct sessions on modern film-making, he added.
