India final of Audi quattro Cup 2012 today
The India final of one of the biggest events on the corporate golf calendar - the Audi quattro Cup 2012 tees off at the Nick Faldo designed golf course at the Emirates Golf Club here on Monday.
As many as 26 teams consisting of two players each from 13 different cities will be battling for a spot in the World final to be held at the Arabella Golf Club, Western Cape, South Africa in November.
The teams, who arrived here on Saturday, went through their paces to acclimatize themselves with the course conditions.
Played on a unique "Greensome Stableford" format, where a team consists of two golfers was drawn randomly and the top two teams from each of the 13 centres qualified for the Audi quattro Cup India finals.
Additionally one more team, drawn randomly, got an opportunity to join the National finalists as wild card entrants.
"The tournament which is at the end of its fifth season in India has emerged as not just a popular sporting event but
also as an ideal opportunity to intensify business relationships and establish new contacts," said Michael Perschke, Managing Director, Audi India.
