Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pranab Mukherjee here on Thursday.
Rajapaksa arrived in India on Wednesday on a three-day official visit to the neighbouring country,
The Sri Lankan President will meet Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhawan here, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
He will attend a dinner hosted by Singh at his 7 Race Course Road residence in the national capital.
According to reports, Singh and Rajapaksa are likely to discuss issues of bilateral interest.
Rajapaksa on Friday will visit Madhya Pradesh's Sanchi village where he will inaugurate a Buddhist university.
Meanwhile, Vaiko's Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) has opposed Rajapaksa's visit to India.
The Madhya Pradesh police on Wednesday stopped Vaiko and his supporters in Chhindwara district near the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border as they were proceeding towards Sanchi with the intention of holding a black flag protest against Rajapaksa's visit.
Vaiko, who was travelling with above 700 supporters in 27 buses, had entered Madhya Pradesh from Maharashtra.
He started a sit-in fast on National Highway-69 after they were stopped in Chhindwara district.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had earlier this week requested Vaiko to re-consider his decision and said the function in the state was apolitical.
Political parties in Tamil Nadu have held the Sri Lankan President responsible for alleged war crimes against civil Tamils during the 2009 Eelam war.
