A minor Dalit rape victim got admission in a school after district authorities intervened in the matter in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district, officials said on Saturday.
The victim was denied admission to a junior high school in Hafizabad Beharipur village following orders by the village Panchayat, reports said.
She was admitted to the school on Friday after the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) intervened in the matter.
He said he would take up the issue with the Basic Education Officer.
According to reports, the administration has also ordered suspension of the school Headmaster Khalid Husaain.
Hussain earlier said villagers had forced him not to admit the girl.
He said the villagers had warned him that they will withdraw their wards in case the girl studies in the same school.
The villagers had held during a Panchayat on Thursday that the atmosphere of the school will be 'spoiled' if the girl interacts with other children in the school.
The victim was reportedly kidnapped and raped by four people in April.
