Aurangabad police assures all assistance to people from NE states

City police commissioner Sanjay Kumar today gave an assurance of all assistance to the people from North-Eastern states of the country, who are living in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra.

While addressing a meeting of peace committee at police headquarters here, Mr Kumar said, "Our police force is quite capable of meeting any eventuality.

He appealed to the people from north-eastern states to remain calm and not to believe in the rumours spread by anti-social elements. He warned that if anybody is found spreading rumours will be dealt strictly.

Aurangabad MP Chandrakant Khaire, City Mayor Anita Ghodele, MLAs Pradeep Jaiswal, Sanjay Shirsat, Dr Kalyan Kale, MLCs M M Shaikh and Kisanchand Tanwani, ACP Jay Jadhav were also present at the meet.

The meeting was largely attended by all religious leaders and prominent citizens.

Yesterday, Mr Kumar had addressed a meeting of the students from north-eastern states who are studying here at various educational institutions.
