75 per cent of Indian population have mobile connections: Bill
Head of Vodafone India Jonathan Bill has said 750 million people in India, almost 75 per cent of the population, have mobile connections, charting a huge growth in the industry.
Addressing the delegates at Harvard Model United Nations India, 2012, organised jointly by Harvard University and MUN Cafe at HICC International Convention Centre here last night, Mr.Bill said India has the 3rd largest internet population after China and USA.
However, India is a very complex market because one has to cater to a population speaking various languages as opposed to other countries where it's just one national language or English.
While speaking about the market in India and Africa that have a knack for new technology, he said that these markets adapt very quickly, showing the growth of the Android phone adaptation in India as an example.
