New Delhi to host National Outreach Conference on Global Disarmament
The one-day National Outreach Conference on Global Disarmament will be held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhavan, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Syed Akbaruddin, informed here on Friday.
External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna will inaugurate the Conference, and there will be a special address by Vice-President Hamid Ansari.
The Conference is being organized by the ICWA and is supported by the Ministry of External Affairs, the spokesperson informed.
A part of the efforts of the Prime Minister's informal group on global disarmament, the Group was established to promote the objectives of the Rajiv Gandhi Action Plan for a Nuclear Free and a Nonviolent World Order, which was laid out in 1988.
