Monsoon fury takes toll to 3 in Rajasthan ; disrupts life
Three people feared killed in rain related incidents in Pratapgarh and Ajmer districts in Rajasthan even as monsoon fury disrupted normal life at many places in Banswara, Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh districts.
Two people swept away in strong current in spating river/rivulet at two different places in Pratapgarh district today.
Middle-aged Narain Meena of Das Guda swept away while crossing swollen Sukhli river in the Dhariwad, Gopalsingh(35) of Billu village met the same fate while taking water from Resham river.
Police and rescuers were making search for both the missing persons, official sources said.
Likewise, one person was killed and six injured when a rain soaked building--used as Jain community center-, collapsed in Purani Mandi area in Ajmer this afternoon burying seven persons under its debris.
One injured succumbed later at the JLN Hospital there and six others were still being treated, a report from Ajmer said.
Meanwhile, many places in Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh district today received heavy to very heavy rain fall that disrupted life but paved way for recharge of many vital dams/reservoirs in the region.
The huge Mahi-Bajaj dam in Banswara district was full up to the brim and the authorities were contempating to drain surplus inflow Likewise, monsoon fury in Harauti region also increased water level in various dams and reservoirs and authorities opened to flood gates of huge Gandhi sagar dam to maintain water level at the prescribed mark.
