Ban on free vibrator giveaway in NY lifted
Mayor Bloomberg of New York has finally decided to let freedom buzz by removing the ban on the distribution of 10,000 free vibrators in Times Square by Trojan Vibrations.
City Hall has taken the clamps off of a free vibrator give-away by the Trojan company, granting the sex-toy makers the proper permits for their promotion, the New York Post reported.
The vibrator bonanza - in which the company plans to give out some 10,000 free sex toys - started at 5 p.m. on Thursday on the south side of 14th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues.
Trojan had originally started their give-away on Wednesday at locations Downtown and in the Flatiron district.
Hundreds of woman and men had lined up for the free sex toys but after Trojan gave away only a few hundred vibrators, Bloomberg's reps shut the event down, citing permit problems.
One official said Trojan is subject to the same rules that apply to all other commercial enterprises that want to use the city's streets, namely paying the fee associated with the permit, which in Trojan's case was 3,100 dollars.
