Assam: ULFA bomb targets CRPF vehicle
Suspected militants of anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) triggered a blast targeting two CRPF vehicles, but none was hurt in Assam's Goalpara district on Thursday, police said.
"Militants had triggered the blast targeting two CRPF vehicles from the blast site at Khardong area under Krishnai police station in the district along with Assam-Meghalaya border," a police official said.
"In the incident, none was hurt," he said.
Senior police and CRPF officials had rushed to the area and launched a search operation to nab the militants.
On August 7, security forces recovered a bomb and defused near the Haldapara in the same district.
Meanwhile, Assam police had sounded red alert along the state ahead of the Independence day.
In other hand, suspected ULFA militant killed a person and exploded a bomb near Sonari in Sivasagar district on Thursday.
