Raksha bandhan to be celebrated in Punjab jails

Keeping in view the significance of the festival of Raksha Bandhan, Punjab Jail Minister Sarwan Singh Phillaur has directed all the Jail Superintendents to make special arrangements in jails so that sisters of inmates could tie 'rakhis' to their brothers from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs on August two.
In a statement issued here today, the Minister said that the inmates would be allowed to meet their sisters on Raksha Bandhan throughout the day and visitors would also be permitted to meet them.
Strict security norms would, however, be observed, said the minister.
