The Punjab government has taken a strong step to curb corruption in the state by deciding to set up two special courts at Ludhiana and Faridkot for speedy disposal of vigilance cases.

DGP-cum-Chief Director Vigilance Bureau Suresh Arora today said the state government had approved the establishment of Special Courts at Ludhiana and Faridkot instead of Jalandhar and Patiala for fast trial of corruption cases being investigated by the Vigilance Bureau.

He said the state government had sent this approval to the Registrar General, Punjab and Haryana High Court to appoint judicial officers in the courts.
