Southwest monsoon weak over Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 15: The south-west monsoon has been weak over Kerala with rain occurring only at a few places.
Very light rain occurred in Lakshadweep.
The chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are - Vadakara (Kozhikode district) 3, Thodupuzha (Idukki district) and Taliparamba (Kannur district) 2 each and Kannur, Ambalavayal, Mananthavady and Vythiri (all in Wayanad district), Kodungallur (Thrissur district) and Kudulu (Kasaragod district) 1 each, according to Local MeT office here today.
Rain or thundershower will occur at a few places in Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Strong onshore winds from northwesterly direction with speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph is likely along and off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hours.
