Peaceful atmosphere needed for development: Chandy

Kannur, Jul 14 : Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said the government should ensure to set up a peaceful atmosphere which would bring development.

He also said the government was planning to set up an Shipyard at Azhikkal in Kannur, and waiting for the technical committee report.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a funciton at North Malabar Chamber of Commerce (NMCC) 2012 award distribution.

The infrastructure facilities would be provided by the state governemnt for the Kannur airport, Azhikkal port and widening of NH into four lines, he said.

Mr Chandy assured that special packages would be provided to the land owners whose lands were acquired for development projects.

The high speed rail corridor, Azhikkal shipyard, Azhikkal major port and Kannur airport would provide development in North Malabar, said Mr Chandy.

Miniser for Rural Development and Planning K C Joseph demanded that people would cooperate with the government for greenfield road to Kannur airport.
