Ambala, Jul 13 : A pilot project to nab the inter-state and international criminals through finger print machine has been launched in Haryana.

Informing this, State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB) Director Liak Ram Dabas said the equipment named 'Pehchan Kaun Police Vahan' had been provided in Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonepat, Faridabad, Karnal, Kaithal and Rewari districts.

He launched the vehicle in Ambala district at a function organised at the railway station Ambala Cantonment today.

The SCRB Director said the state government had purchased 65 such equipment which were known as Live Scanners and each of the equipment was fed with complete detail of 26,500 persons.

As soon as any person touched the equipment, his full identification would be recorded, he informed.

He said complete data of the criminals, chain snatchers, purse snatchers, thieves and burglars, persons molesting women, robbers and dacoits would be fed in these vehicles which would give new direction in solving the cases of crime in each district.
