Pb govt invites applications from students for post Matric scholarships
Chandigarh, Jul 5 : With a view to enable the meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority communities to pursue higher education from class XI to PhD and technically/vocational courses, the Punjab government has invited applications for post metric scholarship for the academic session 2012-13.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the Punjab Government said the scholarship under the scheme of Government of India, would be provided to those students who have not less than 50 per cent marks in the previous final examination and the annual income of their parents does not exceed Rs. two lakhs.
Scholarship will not be given to more than two students in a family and the scholarship would be awarded for studies in India only, spokesman added.
The spokesman further said eligible applicants may send their application on prescribed format for grant of scholarship to the Directorate of Welfare of SCs and BCs, Punjab through the head of school/collage/institute of the student latest by 30-09-2012. Application forms and other relevant information can be downloaded from the web site www.miniorityaffairs.gov.in.
