IUML re-elects Thangal, Majeed as President, General Secretary
Kozhikode, Jul 1 : The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the second biggest partner in the Congress-led ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala today re-elected Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal and K P A Majeed as President and General Secretary respectively.
Briefing newspersons after a two-day State Council meet, Mr Majeed said senior leader P P Ahamedali, M I Thangal, V K Abdul Khader Moulavi, P H Abdul Salam Haji, K Kutty Ahamed Kutty were elected as vice presidents and P K K Bav as treasurer.
M C Mayin Haji, P M A Salam, T P M Zahir, P V Abdul Wahab and T M Salim were secretaries, he said.
The meet also elected a 6-member Parliamentary Board.
They were IUML All India President and Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development E Ahamed, Kerala Industry and IT Minister P K Kunhalikutty, State President Thangal, E T Mohammed Basheer, MP, General Secretary Majeed and Sadiqali Shihab Thangal.
Executive Committee of the party would be constituted later, he said.
Mr Basheer, who was dropped from the post of General Secretary, was also present at the press meet.
