Gang selling pirating movie, music CDs busted
Chandigarh, June 26 : An inter-state gang engaged in selling pirated CDs and DVDs of movies and songs has been busted, police here said Tuesday. One person was arrested and a huge cache of pirated material seized from his possession.
According to police, the arrested man was identified as Sunil Narula, in his late-20s.
"Working on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at the residence of Narula in Sector 26 here. We have recovered 8,989 pirated CDs and DVDs. He was selling them in different parts of Punjab and Haryana. He has been booked under various sections of the Copyright Act and for cheating," said a police official here.
Police said that on the basis of Narula's interrogation, they are conducting raids at various places to nab other members of this gang.
