Rajesh Khanna doing better: Doctors
Mumbai, June 25 : Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna's health condition is improving and he may be discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital in a couple of days, said his doctors on Monday.
"The actor complained of breathlessness and weakness. But he is much better today," said one of the doctors treating him.
"If all goes well, he can go home in a couple of days," he said.
Meanwhile, media reports said Khanna was suffering from liver infection and his kidneys were affected too.
Khanna was admitted to the hospital after his heath condition deteriorated on Saturday.
His manager Ashwin on June 21 said Khanna has stopped taking food for three-four days.
"Rajeshji is unwell. He is not even being able to eat anything since the last three-four days," Ashwin had told reporters.
However, Khanna's son-in-law and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar later tweeted, saying his father-in-law 'is doing fine now and on the road to recovery'.
"All those spreading rumours, a humble request, get your facts right before reporting. And for those genuinely concerned and inquiring about my father in-law's health, he is doing fine now and on the road to recovery. Thank you for your good wishes," Akshay posted on his Twitter page.
Khanna on June 21 waved at his fans, who had gathered outside his Mumbai bungalow 'Aashirwad', from his balcony.
He also showed them 'victory' sign to clarify that he was fine.
Khanna's estranged wife and yesteryear actor Dimple Kapadia and younger daughter Rinke are taking care of him.
In April, Khanna was discharged from a Mumbai hospital where he was undergoing a normal check-up.
The 69-year-old actor was admitted to Lilavati Hospital for a 'full body check-up' after he complained of weakness.
Khanna was recently seen in a TV commercial for Havells fan.
