New Delhi, June 12 : External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna will be visiting Cuba from June 15-17.

He will hold discussions with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla on June 15 on bilateral, regional and international issues.

He is also expected to call on the Cuban President Raul Castro and other leaders.

The last bilateral visit at the level of Foreign Minister took place in April 2007 when Felipe Roque, then Cuban Foreign Minister, visited India.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited Havana for the NAM Summit in 2006.

"Indo-Cuban relations have been traditionally warm and friendly. India was amongst the first countries to extend recognition to Cuba after the 1959 Revolution. India and Cuba have mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of sports, energy, biotechnology and IT," said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Krishna will also chair the annual Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Regional Heads of Indian Missions (HOMs) Conference in Havana on 16-17 June.
