12 grenades recovered in Assam
Guwahati, June 9 : Security forces recovered 12 hand grenades from a passenger bus and arrested two persons in Assam's Baska district on Saturday, police said.
"Acting on a tip-off, a team of Tamulpur police had recovered 12 handgrenades and four detonators from a passenger bus, which was came from Daranggiri to Kokrajhar," a police official said.
Police also apprehended two persons identified as Surya Hazda and M Murmu, who carried the explosives in a plastic bag.
"We suspect that the nabbed person duo had worked for militants for delivering explosive," a high official of Baska district police said.
Few militant groups including anti-talk faction group of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) and Paresh Asom led United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) are active in lower Assam and bordering areas of Bhutan.
