Spurned lover sets girl ablaze in UP
Moradabad, UP, Mar 22 : A young girl was set on fire by her lover after she refused to marry him in Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, said reports.
According to police, the accused had tried to force the the victim to marry him and when she refused to do the same, he and his friends poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze.
The girl, who is admitted at a local hospital with 35 to 50 per cent burns, has reportedly recorded her statement before a magistrate.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed by the victim's father against the three attackers.
However, the accused fled while the victim's parents and other family members rushed to rescue her.
