Cop thrashing: 2 Maharashtra MLAs surrender
Mumbai, Mar 21 : Two Maharashtra MLAs surrendered before the Mumbai Police on Thursday after they allegedly thrashed a policeman on Tuesday, reports said.
The police reportedly recorded the statements of both Ram Kadam and Kshitij Thakur after they surrendered on Thursday.
A First Information Report (FIR) was recorded against Kadam, Thakur and 14 others on Mar 19 for allegedly thrashing Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Suryavanshi inside the state Assembly premises on Tuesday.
Five Maharashtra MLAs were suspended from the state Assembly till Dec 31 for allegedly thrashing Suryavanshi.
According to reports, Kshitij Thakur, Ram Kadam, Rajan Salvi, Jaikumar Rawal and Pradeep Jaiswal allegedly slapped and punched Suryavanshi.
The legislators reportedly got agitated following the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi MLA, Kshitij Thakur's accusations against the cop of breach of privilege and allegations that he had also abused him.
While several political members demanded the suspension of the cop, some of them rushed to the visitor's gallery and allegedly thrashed him.
