Mika to judge Idea Rocks India
Mumbai, Mar 21 : Leading telecom brand Idea has announced the launch of the 5th edition of its popular series, Idea Rocks India (IRI), in a new avatar and on a larger scale.
This season offers an opportunity for musical aficionados across the country to showcase their singing talent and share the platform with some of the biggest music stars in India - Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Mika.
For the first time ever, this musical extravaganza will be allowing participants to audition through four different media - Digital, IVR, Radio and On-Ground - thereby reaching out to a much broader spectrum of audience.
This season will witness the hunt for budding 'Rockstars' from across over 60 towns and cities, and give them an opportunity to 'Rock with the Stars'.
This year's special, IVR based auditioning process, will give a chance to over 116 million Idea customers to showcase their singing talent.
A team of 4 judges with extensive music knowledge and experience will filter the participants to final 50 for each city; who would be further filtered to 5 participants by a panel of local music academicians and popular music personalities.
Idea will make a dream come true for the final winner chosen by the celebrity judges - Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Mika - by giving him/her a platform to perform with them at key locations across the country.
Speaking about the initiative, Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular, said, "With over 60 events, over a period of two months, this year IRI will reach out to millions of Indians across the country."
Aimed at identifying a combination of ideal voice, performance and X factor, the contest is being rolled out across India. 'Idea Rocks India' will give an opportunity to all Indians aged 18 years and above to participate in the contest in their city.
