Union Minister's office in Pondy attacked over Lankan issue
Puducherry, Mar 20 : The local office of Union Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office V Narayanasamy was today attacked and the effigies of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi were burnt by Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam volunteers on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, here.
The volunteers, who held a demonstration near the Anna Statue, suddenly burnt the hidden effigies of Dr Singh and Ms Gandhi.
Meanwhile,a section of the volunteers ran towards the office of Mr Narayanasamy inside the Kamban Kalalai Arangam Complex and started pelting stones, breaking the glass panes.
Police arrested over 100 of them.
Following the attack, security to the office of Mr Narayanasamy has been tightened.
