CMO of Community Health Centre gets 2 years RI
Belgaum, Karnataka, Mar 20 : A local court here has sentenced a Chief Medical Officer of a Community Health Centre to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 15,000 for accepting a bribe of Rs 500 from a patient.
IV Additional Sessions and Special Court Judge Rajendra Badamikar sentenced Dr Sharda H Hanchinal to two years rigorous imprisonment.
He was caught red handed by the Lokauyukta police on November 19, 2009 for accepting a bribe of Rs 500 after demanding Rs 1000 from Srishali Siddappa Khetri for providing a physically disabled certificate for his daughter.
He had lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta Police which took up the case.
