Andhra Pradesh Assembly adjourned for day over Telangana issue
Hyderabad, Mar 20 : The Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for the day today without transacting any business as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) did not allow the proceedings over the separate Telangana state issue.
Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourned the House till tomorrow after two brief adjournments failed to restore order in the House.
As soon as the House assembled for routine business, the legislators from Telugu Desam party(TDP), who wore khadi caps and T-shirts, demanding discussion on VAT on textiles from their respective benches by holding placards.
After the speaker disallowed the adjournment motions given by opposition members on various issues including TRS on Telangana issue, TDP on VAT and YSRCP on power, members from TDP and TRS holding placards entered into the well of the House amid slogans on their respective issues while YSR congress party members demanding discussin on power issue from their seats by standing.
Even as the speaker appealed to the members to discuss the issues in the question hour and assured them to allow short discussions, the opposition members continued their slogans and the House was adjourned for nearly one hour.
